Jesus walked on water to reveal His divine power over creation and to strengthen His disciples' faith. After feeding the five thousand, Jesus came to His disciples during the night, walking on the Sea of Galilee while they struggled against the wind and waves (Matthew 14:22–33, KJV). When the disciples were afraid, He said, "Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid." Peter briefly walked on the water toward Jesus but began to sink when he doubted, and Jesus immediately reached out to save him. When they entered the boat, the wind ceased, and the disciples worshipped Him, saying, "Of a truth thou art the Son of God." This miracle demonstrated Jesus' authority over nature and teaches believers to keep their faith fixed on Christ, especially during life's storms.
