Golgotha, meaning "Place of a Skull," was the site just outside the walls of Jerusalem where Jesus Christ was crucified (Matthew 27:33; John 19:17–20, KJV). The exact location is not stated in the Bible, but it was near the city and close to a garden containing the tomb where Jesus was buried (John 19:41–42, KJV). Golgotha is the place where Jesus willingly gave His life as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world, fulfilling God's plan of redemption. Through His death on the cross, He paid the penalty for sin, making salvation available to all who believe in Him. Golgotha remains one of the most sacred locations in Christianity because it is where God's love and justice were fully revealed through the sacrifice of His Son.
