Where Was Patmos?

Patmos is a small rocky island in the Aegean Sea, located off the southwestern coast of modern-day Turkey. It is best known as the place where the Apostle John was exiled for preaching the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ (Revelation 1:9, KJV). While on Patmos, John received the visions recorded in the Book of Revelation, including messages to the seven churches, visions of Christ's return, the final judgment, and the New Jerusalem (Revelation 1–22). Though Patmos was a place of isolation and hardship, God used it to reveal one of the Bible's greatest prophetic books. Patmos reminds believers that even in times of suffering and exile, God continues to accomplish His purposes and gives hope through His promises of Christ's ultimate victory.

"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."
