Jesus rose from the dead on the third day to fulfill God's plan of salvation and the Scriptures, proving His victory over sin and death. Before His crucifixion, Jesus repeatedly foretold that He would be killed and rise again on the third day (Matthew 16:21, KJV). His resurrection fulfilled Old Testament prophecy, including the sign of Jonah, who spent three days and three nights in the great fish (Matthew 12:40), and confirmed that He is the promised Messiah. On the third day, God raised Jesus from the dead, and His empty tomb became the foundation of the Christian faith (Luke 24:6–7). As the Apostle Paul wrote, "Christ died for our sins... and... he rose again the third day according to the scriptures" (1 Corinthians 15:3–4, KJV). The resurrection assures believers of forgiveness, eternal life, and the hope that all who trust in Christ will also be raised.
