The Life of Jesus

The life of Jesus Christ is the central event of the Bible's timeline, fulfilling God's promises of salvation through the promised Messiah. Jesus was born in Bethlehem to the virgin Mary, raised in Nazareth, and began His public ministry at about thirty years of age after being baptized by John the Baptist (Luke 2; Luke 3:21–23, KJV). For about three years, He preached the Kingdom of God, taught with authority, performed miracles, healed the sick, cast out demons, and called His disciples to follow Him. Jesus was then crucified in Jerusalem, died as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world, and was buried. On the third day, He rose from the dead, appearing to many witnesses before ascending into heaven forty days later (Luke 24; Acts 1:9–11). The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus form the foundation of the Christian faith, revealing God's love and providing salvation for all who believe in Him.
