The era of the Prophets spans the period when God raised up men and women to call His people back to faithfulness, warn of coming judgment, and proclaim hope for future restoration. Prophets such as Samuel, Elijah, Elisha, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Amos, Micah, and Malachi delivered God's messages to Israel and Judah before, during, and after the Babylonian exile. They confronted idolatry, injustice, and disobedience while announcing God's promises of a coming Messiah, a New Covenant, and the future restoration of God's people (Isaiah 53; Jeremiah 31:31–34, KJV). The prophetic era concluded with Malachi, after which there were approximately 400 years of prophetic silence until the arrival of John the Baptist, who prepared the way for Jesus Christ. The ministry of the prophets forms a vital part of the Bible's timeline, revealing God's justice, mercy, and His unfolding plan of redemption through the promised Savior.
