Why Did Manna Stop?

Manna stopped because God had fulfilled His purpose of providing food for the Israelites during their journey through the wilderness. For forty years, God miraculously supplied manna from heaven each morning while Israel traveled from Egypt to the Promised Land (Exodus 16:35, KJV). After the Israelites crossed the Jordan River and entered Canaan, they ate the produce of the land for the first time. The Bible says, "And the manna ceased on the morrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land" (Joshua 5:12, KJV). From that day onward, they no longer needed the miraculous provision because God had brought them into the land He had promised. The end of manna marked the beginning of a new chapter for Israel, reminding believers that God faithfully provides exactly what His people need in every season of life.

"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."
