The Jordan River flows through the Jordan Rift Valley, beginning near Mount Hermon in northern Israel and flowing south into the Dead Sea. It forms part of the border between Israel, the West Bank, and Jordan. The Jordan River is one of the Bible's most significant waterways. It was where the Israelites crossed into the Promised Land under Joshua after God miraculously stopped its waters (Joshua 3:14–17, KJV). The prophet Naaman was healed of leprosy after washing in the Jordan seven times (2 Kings 5:10–14, KJV), and it was here that John the Baptist baptized Jesus, marking the beginning of His public ministry (Matthew 3:13–17, KJV). Throughout Scripture, the Jordan River symbolizes God's faithfulness, cleansing, new beginnings, and the fulfillment of His promises.
