Martha was a devoted follower of Jesus and the sister of Mary and Lazarus, living in the village of Bethany (Luke 10:38–42; John 11, KJV). She is best known for warmly welcoming Jesus into her home but becoming distracted by many household responsibilities while Mary sat listening to His teaching. Jesus gently reminded her that "one thing is needful," encouraging her to prioritize time with Him (Luke 10:41–42, KJV). Later, after Lazarus died, Martha expressed remarkable faith by declaring, "I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God" (John 11:27, KJV), just before Jesus raised her brother from the dead. Martha's life demonstrates that faithful service is important, but it should always be rooted in faith, worship, and a close relationship with Christ.
