The sun standing still is one of the Bible's most extraordinary miracles, recorded during Joshua's battle against the Amorites. As Israel pursued its enemies, Joshua prayed, "Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon" (Joshua 10:12–14, KJV). God answered by causing the day to continue until Israel had achieved victory, and the Bible says, "there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man." This miracle demonstrated God's sovereign power over creation and His faithfulness in fighting for His people. It reminds believers that nothing is impossible for God and that He is able to accomplish His purposes beyond the limits of human understanding.
